THE CBMC ONBOARDING OUTREACH EVENT  presents two very important opportunities for the men of CBMC. The Director of the films, Tim Mahoney, is an active member of CBMC. He is part of a Trusted Advisors Forum group in Minneapolis, MN so first, we have the opportunity to help one of our own. We know that the purpose of our CBMC network is not necessarily to gain business from our network of men, but how many of us in our businesses have a true opportunity to reach millions of people globally with a message of the gospel. That’s the unique responsibility that Tim Mahoney has been given stewardship over by God. Tim’s first two films have been seen in theaters, on Amazon and Netflix worldwide by millions of people. The impact that his movies have had for the gospel is immeasurable. But the path to getting an opportunity for your movie to be seen at large scale is a difficult road.

Tim has one night, February 18th, when the movie will be shown in 800 theaters across the nation. It will be determined in one night if the movie is given additional theater runs. We have CBMC area directors, facilitators and/or volunteers in many, if not all, of the cities where the movies are showing. There are two ways that you can help to promote the movie so that it gets additional runs.

You can simply invite people to the movie premiere. We have created tools for you to do this. Another way that you can help to ensure the movie’s success is to consider renting an entire theater and use it as an opportunity to host a community outreach event. You would have the opportunity to speak to the entire movie audience before and after the showing about CBMC. You could sell tickets or provide the tickets as a gift.

We know from personal experience that this can be an effective tool for promoting CBMC and bringing people to Christ. Tim was the speaker at our 5th annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast in the Brainerd Lakes area this year and we followed the event with a community outreach on August 27th where we had just over 600 community members come to an event to watch one of Tim’s movies. Afterwards there was a Q&A session with Tim and Alan Smith our Northland Area Director. The types of questions that were being asked indicated there was an enormous amount of interest on the topic and the feedback we received after the event was tremendous and continued for months to come, even until this very day.

If you were to buy out an entire theater it almost guarantees extended showings as additional theaters are opened at most theaters when they reach 70% capacity. If we were able to execute on this strategy and get this film shown in additional theaters, and for an extended period of time, the number of people who could be exposed to evidence of God and the Bible could again be in the millions. THE RED SEA MIRACLE It’s one of the greatest miracles in the Bible; Moses and the Israelites trapped at the sea by Pharaoh’s army when God miraculously parts the waters, rescuing the Isrealites and destroying Pharaoh and his chariots. The Bible describes the crossing happening at a deep and mighty sea and that’s how legendary director Cecil B. DeMille depicted it in his epic, “The Ten Commandments.” But today, many scholars are skeptical of spectacular miracles and claim that if the Exodus sea-parting happened at all, it must have been caused by naturalistic means, at a shallow lake in the north of Egypt’s Nile delta. 

THE RED SEA MIRACLE is the first in a new two-part film series by Patterns of Evidence’s award-winning filmmaker, Timothy Mahoney. In this investigation he examines the journey to the crossing location, looking at two competing views of the Red Sea Miracle. One he calls the “Egyptian Approach,” which looks near Egypt. The other he calls the “Hebrew Approach,” which looks far from Egypt to the Gulf of Aqaba where divers have been searching for the remains of Pharaoh’s army on the seafloor. The investigation raises giant questions about the real location for the crossing site and its implications on your view of God. The answers to these questions point to one of two very different realities.
